17 Days in Europe – Day 17 Rest and Reminisce

By 27th August 2017Europe17

17 days have disappeared just like that.  Months of planning and excitement.  Travelling, 4 different locations and accommodation, days full of activities.  The holiday is over in a blink of an eye.  On our last day we try to be bored.  Go back and do things that we have done before, kick about and sit around.

Today was that day.  There is no way that I can make todays blog remotely interesting.  We just soaked in all the little things.

Like playing card games around the dining room table and eating all the left overs from the start of the trip.

Like wandering into the centre of the town, buying coffee and playing crazy golf.

Like getting the cable car back up to First and drinking in the view.

Like going to the play park and letting Marcus swing until he could swing no more.

Like picking flowers and sorting them into colours and sizes for Charlottes newly purchased flower press.

Like fixing all the broken bits on the pram – the wheel, a newly acquired puncture.  This pram had really taken a battering this trip.

Like wearing a poncho in the rain as we shopped for the last of our holiday presents and bits.  Even the weather had started to turn as if it was time to go home.  Gray clouds and rain.

Like trying to spend all of our Swiss Francs, then finding a pocket full of coins.

Like drinking a local beer and eating Lindt chocolate.

As bland and as boring as that might sound, it was the perfect last day to the trip.

Our last night on the balcony sees us reminiscing again about the trip.  What another incredible adventure.  Tomorrow we would pack the car and set off on the long journey home.  If all goes to plan we will be back in our house for breakfast.  Until the next time……
